(Defiance, Oh) After completing the first couple weeks of school and settling down into your class schedules, you may now recognize the open opportunities you have for entertainment. This fall will see the release of many great blockbuster hits, but three are especially exciting!

The local theatre, Northtowne Cinema 9, will be releasing and showing many of the highly anticipated movies this semester. This theatre is located at 1500 N. Clinton St. in Defiance and can be easily accessed at several points throughout the mall.

Many notable movies coming out this fall to be aware of are The Maze Runner, Interstellar, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

The Maze Runner is a book to film adaptation that was just released on September 19th. The film is a science fiction/action/thriller about a boy who wakes up in the center of a giant maize with no memory of his previous life. So far the reviews have been fantastic and with a sequel already being announced this is a must see this fall!

Interstellar is a film set to release November 7th and features famous actors such as Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. This is a highly anticipated film this fall due to its screenwriting and directing being from Cristopher Nolan, the director of many notable movies such as Inception and the Batman trilogy. The plot of Interstellar concerns the fictional story of the first people to ever travel through a wormhole and conquering human space travel.

This new Hunger Games movie is the 3rd movie in the series and is the 1st part of the two parts that will make up the Mockingjay adaptation from the books. The scheduled release for this movie is November 21st and the second part will come out the 20th of November next year. Fans of the series will recognize the return of well-known actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson to continue to play the leading roles in the film.
