At first, visitors coming to Defiance, Ohio, might not imagine that there is going to be much choice when it comes to restaurants in the city. Yet, once having spent some time in the city, one realizes that there are quite a few restaurants that one should try.
Defiance Pancake House is one of the top places where people can have breakfast. The location on Jefferson Avenue serves pancakes, eggs, omelets and many other foods. There have been many occasions when it was named the best place for having breakfast around.
Another good place is El Mezcal, a Mexican cuisine restaurant. It serves many varieties of Mexican dishes, which include tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, and combination plates. The food served here comes in generous amounts and is affordable. It is a good place to dine with your friends and enjoy.
Maverick Smokehouse is another unique establishment. For those who like barbecue, Maverick offers choices of brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sandwiches, and typical side dishes. This place allows students to have an alternative to fast food restaurants without losing a casual ambience.
The downtown area in Defiance features various local restaurants too. For example, Dos Eppi’s, located in Clinton Street, offers the South Texas cuisine mixed with the Puerto Rican family recipes. It provides a new experience compared to most places in town and is perfect for having a quick lunch downtown.
If you are looking for a more conventional American diner, then Bud’s Restaurant will satisfy your needs. Bud’s Restaurant is famous for its home cooked meals and pies.
For a nice dinner, one can visit Sweetwater Chophouse, where he or she will get to have steaks and other American dishes while watching the Eagle Rock Golf Club.
Despite being a small city, Defiance has a variety of restaurants. At the same time, visiting local restaurants is an easy way for college students to become involved in the life of the community.
