Hey, Yellow Jackets! Today I am here to talk about the examples that great athletes can give you to be the best version of yourself, independent of the environment that you are in—whether it is college, work, or personal life. These athletes are great examples of resilience, and I have looked to them for inspiration in my own life.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of my biggest idols. I look up to him for more than skill. What stands out to me is his drive and his mindset. He keeps pushing himself to get better, even after he became one of the best soccer players of all time. I am a goalkeeper, so I try to carry that mindset into my own routine. Some days I do not get as much playtime as I want. Other times, matches do not go the way I planned.

Michael Jordan is another strong example. He ran into setbacks, then used that to push himself forward. He kept working until he improved. Along with Jordan, LeBron James is another case of commitment. Even after reaching major goals, he still stays on top of his training. He looks after his body and keeps showing up to play at the top level.

Michael Phelps shows something we might miss. Yes, he became the most decorated Olympian. Still, he had rough stretches, too. His story suggests that big wins do not come from skill alone. They come from sticking with the work, getting ready, and pushing forward when it is hard. These athletes also point to resilience in a real way.

Resilience is not pretending you will never slip. It is deciding what to do after you fall. Not everyone will be Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, or Michael Phelps. But we can borrow parts of their mindset. In school, at your job, in games, and in everyday life, effort and persistence can help you improve day by day, and be the best Yellow Jacket that you can be.
