DC Pride is an organization here on campus that recognizes local and national issues about the LGBTQ community and according to Taylor Haydinger, DC Pride president, “You do not have to be LGBTQ to join DC Pride. You can be anything you want really; from straight to bisexual to asexual. DC Pride welcomes all.”
Students come together and help facilitate an inclusive environment for LGBTQ students at Defiance College.

The Defiance volleyball team hosted a tri-match with HCAC opponent Mount Saint Joseph University and non-conference, OAC opponent, Otterbein University on Saturday October 3, 2015. In the Yellow Jackets first conference play they went above and beyond in the action, taking both conference and non-conference wins.

The Freshman 15, something that creeps up on us, unnoticed, that is until we put on our favorite pair of jeans (Our favorite jeans, the jeans that fit us just right and make us feel invincible)!Look in the mirror though and you feel like the sidekick, might as well be wearing underwear overtop your jeans, right?
Before you finish accepting the fact that you will forever be the sidekick, take a step back and look at the picture; what exactly is the Freshman 15?

Have you wondered about the history of Tenzer Hall? In 1912 Herman B. Tenzer, who ran a local lumber company, became a Defiance College Trustee and member of the Executive Committee. Faculty member (and later President) Albert Caris’s history of the College written about 1915 said that Tenzer and his wife were very supportive of the College, and wished to donate money to build a new building.
Construction began in 1917, but a severe setback occurred when DC’s President P.W. McReynolds and his wife were killed in a car-train accident at a railroad crossing in Indiana on October 3, 1917.

Defiance College Softball played their first inter-squad scrimmage on Saturday, September 19th. The double-header scrimmage was hosted at The Sal and was a matchup between Purple & Gold, teams composed of DCSB players. A family potluck dinner was hosted by the Yellow Jackets afterwards to introduce all of the new squad members and their families.

A new change is coming to one of the premier programs here at Defiance College. The Athletic Training is now turning into a Master’s program, where no longer offering a Bachelor’s entry-level degree. Although this change is relevant to DC, it is not exclusive to just Defiance College.

Are you a student here with an interest in technology? How about the legal system? Both? If so the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) is the perfect on campus organization for you!

Students, our college is in the process of making one of its most important decisions since being chartered in 1850 . . . selecting a President that can lead us into a more promising future. Defiance College Softball (DCSB) traveled to the heart of Northwest Ohio the weekend of September 12th for the State Special Olympics. The DC squad volunteered their day towards helping some of what DCSB considers some of the most incredible individuals in the state of Ohio. The age groups for the State-Level event varied from young children to experienced adults.
