  • The Power of Athletes

    – Jordan Osborne (Defiance, OH)

When the University of Missouri’s football team boycotted all football and all activities involving the sport, the entire country paid attention to what was really going on. Since the beginning of the 2015-16 school years, the campus has experienced several racist incidents.

  • Just Keep Swimming: Brittany Pease

    – Kailin Regutti (Defiance, OH)

For many students, leaving behind a sport they love is difficult and painful. After years of doing something you love, retiring the jersey or throwing the towel in is not always an easy option. That is why joining a sports team at a D-III college is a great way for students to still participate in a sport they love.

D-III athletes can focus both on academics and still stay active by joining a team they have a passion for. Many students who attend Defiance College belong to the Jacket Nation Athletic community.

    – Ben Weber (Defiance, OH)

baseball1We see them around at practice, we see them at the café, and all around campus. They are close to us in age and we look up to them as mentors. Of course I am talking about the sports GAs (Graduate Assistant). Xander Uxley is the current Graduate Assistant for the baseball team, and is on his second year coaching for the Yellow Jackets.
